BROOKS FAMILY

 Rebecca Mitchell married John Sawyer Brooks December 5th 1822 in Jones County Georgia. She was the daughter of Drury Mitchell and Rhoda Lassiter. She was born January 8th 1808 and died June 6th 1857 in Butler County Alabama. She is buried at Brooks Chapel , it is located between Mckenzie and Garland Alabama off of county road #6. John was born June 14th 1796 and died  April 2nd 1869. He also is buried at Brooks Chapel. children:

1.Ely Brooks born August 21st in Ga. died November 20th 1833

2.Edward (ED) Pinckney Brooks born June 7th 1827 in Ga. died June 25th 1860 in Butler County Alabama. He married Sara Frances Stewart.

3.Elizabeth Caroline  (Lizzie) Brooks was born April 24th 1829  inn Macon Ga. died July 7th 1915 in Butler County Alabama. She Married William Harden Binion on Feb. 6th 1845.

4.Martha Beatrice (Batliz) (B) Brooks was born April 23rd 1831 in Macon Ga. died in Texas. She married Julius A ndrew Turner on Feb 10th 1850.

5.Rebecca Rody Ann Brooks was born Jan. 25th 1833 (According to Bible) in Macon Ga. died July 1890 . She married Noah Bishop Peacock MD.

6.Drury William Brooks born Jan. 7th 1835 in Macon Ga. died after 1875 in Rural Shades Texas. married Margaret Tuner (marge) in Nov of 1854.

7.John Sawer Brooks Jr. born Dec 22nd 1836 in Macon Ga. died June 6th 1871 . married Betty Wallace Sept 20th 1857.

8.Ricey Maderias King  Brooks born Oct. 15th 1838  in Macon Ga. died August 5th 1862 . married Julia Ann McKenney on Nov. 2nd 1858.

9.Silby Ann Louise (Lou) Brooks born July 17th 1840 in Macon Ga. died Oct 13th 1914. married Julius Gardner.

10. Parmelia Catherine (Kate) Brooks born April 9th 1842 in Macon Ga. died July 11th 1878 married John Jefferson Flowers on April 11th 1861.
