Carrei Costen Mitchell was born March 7th 1899 in Conecuh Co. Al. and died May 17th 1985. She was the daughter of Zachary Jackson Taylor Mitchell and Sarah Ann Elizabeth Gavin. She married William James Smith  March 15th 1917 in Evergreen at the Courthouse in  Conecuh Co. Al. He was  born August 28th 1894 in Conecuh Co.Al. and died March 4th 1981. He was the son of James Smith and Martha Lee.Both William and Carrie are buried at the Sweet Home Baptist Church Cemetery in Shreve Conecuh Co. Al. Children of William and Carrie:

2. Carrie Evelyn Smith born July 1st 1920 in Covington Co.Al. Married Vester Lee

3.Myrtle Ester Smith born June 17th 1923 Married James Benjamin Parker March 24th 1948

4.Jewel Ferrel Smith Changed name to James born March 31st 1925 Married Katherine Brooks July 29th 1959

5.Betty Lou Virginia Born April 23rd 1929 Married Glenn Cockcroft June 29th 1953

6.Infant Son Smith

7.Carolyn Janette Smith born August 10th 1939 died September 1st 1967 Married Douglas Reel December 30th 1961
