DRURY B. MITCHELL

 Drury Mitchell was born abt 1865 in Virginia. He died July 10th 1857 in Butler County Alabama .His tombstone says he was about 100 years old . according to census records I have looked up , he would have been  around 92 years old at his death. He married 1st Sarah Patsy Taylor we do not know where or the dates. This was all passed down through oral history of the family. However it was found to be in told in several lines of our early family. His second wife was Rhoda Rebecca Lassiter she was called Mary by the family.On church records of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Jones County Ga. they have her listed as Rody.  Rhoda is believed  to be the daughter of Tobias Lassiter and Sarah Northern. Tobias was married several times. Drury moved several times , he was found in Georgia in 1794 ,in Jones County Ga. in 1805 in 1830 he was in Houston Co. Ga. then he went to Marion Co. GA . he was there from 1840 to about 1852. He then came with Ricey Sr. and several family members to Butler Co. Al.. He is buried at Brooks Chapel in Butler Co. Al. between Mckenzie Al. and Garland Al. off Co. road  # 6. Children of Drury and Rhoda :

1.Ricey Maderias John Mitchell Sr. born Jan 25th 1804 in Green Co. Ga. died sept 1st 1890 in Mckenzie Al. Butler Co.

2.Rhoda Rebecca Mitchell born Jan 8th 1806 in Green Co. Ga. died June 6th 1857  in Butler Co. AL. Buried at Brooks Chapel.

3.Lucy Amanda Mitchell born  abt 1805?

4.Drury Mitchell Jr ?
