Sarah Fulghum, born Abt. 1720 in Johnston County, North Carolina; died Aft. May 20, 1795 in Johnston County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of John Fulghum and Sarah Bardin.

In the name of God Amen I Richard Pearce of Johnston County being of sound and
perfect mind blessed be God twentieth day of November in the year of our Lord
one thousand, seven hundred and ninety do make and publish this my last will
and testament in manner following that is to say.
Item ? I give to my beloved daughter Martha Nichols five shillings.
Item ? I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Ann _______ five shillings
only.
Item ? I give and bequeath to my beloved grandson Allen Ander Godwin five
shillings only.
Item ? I give and bequeath to my beloved son Everet Pearce one hundred acres
of land lying in Johnston County on the skull Madon branch held by a grant No.
594.
Item ? I give and bequeath to my beloved son Ephraum Pearce five shillings
only.
Item ? I give and bequeath to my beloved son Richard Pearce five shillings
only.
Item ? I give and bequeath to my beloved son John Pearce my set of blacksmith
tools.
Item ? I give and bequeath to my beloved son Phillip Pearce my desk.
Item ? I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Unity Pearce two hundred
acres of land lying in Johnston County on the head of Mattons Branch held by a
grant No. 641, 1 bed furniture and bedstead and one hunting saddle, one black
mare, two cows & calves two two year old heifers, one chest and spinning wheel
and one trunk.
Item ? I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Sarah Pearce two thirds of my
cattle, two thirds of my sheep that is not above mentioned and all my hogs and
all of geese and two horses and two thirds of my household goods that is not
above mentioned.
Also I lend to my beloved wife Sarah Pearce one hundred acres of land my
houses now stands on and half the profit of my still, and half the profit of
my orchard, and three negros, Dick, Abel, and Clo during her natural life.
Item ? After the natural death of my beloved wife Sarah Pearce the above lent
articles to her belongs to my beloved son Simon Pearce forever.
Item ? I give and bequeath to my beloved son Simon Pearce nine hundred and
fifty acres of land the remaining part that is not mentioned above and the
remaining part of my stock of all kind that is not aboved mentioned and the
remaining part of my household goods that is not above mentioned. Half of the
still and half the profit of my orchard, and the remaining part of my estate
that is not mentiod aboved
to him forever.
And I do hereby constitute and appoint my beloved sons before mentioned
Everett Pearce and Simon Pearce my executors and I do hereby disannul all and
all manner of forms of wills whatever and do acknowledge this only to be my
last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
seal this 20th day of November 1790.

I, Philip Pearce, being in a very sickly and queasy estate and knowing not the uncertain time that the Lord shall be pleased to call me out of this wicked world, do hereby make my will and testament. First and foremost I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God, my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and I commit my body to the ground, and secondly I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife, Sarah, my house and plantation and two hundred acres of land belonging to the said plantation enduring her natural life; and after the death of my dearly beloved wife, my land and plantation shall fall to my son. Nathan. And if my son Nathan should die without issue, my said land and plantation shall fall to my son Arthur. If my son Arthur should die without issue, my house and plantation shall fall to my son, Simon. And I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife, Sarah, all my moveable estate, within dower and without, enduring her natural life. But if my wife should marry, my moveable estate should be equally divided between my Wi and my (son) Richard and my son Edward and my son Nathan and my son Simon. And I do appoint my beloved wife, Sarah, and my son, Richard, for to be my executors, to receive and pay out as though I was present.
